So, how much can the BMW X5 tow? When properly equipped, the 2025 BMW X5 towing capacity can reach up to 7,200 pounds*, more than enough to hitch up your favorite fishing boat, teardrop trailer, or adventuring gear on your next weekend trip out of Riverside. 

To access this tow rating, Ontario drivers must add the factory-installed BMW X5 tow hitch to their build. While the BMW X5 tow hitch allows for the advanced towing capacity, drivers will lose the “foot-kick” capability of the Comfort Access tailgate.
