BMW is preparing to launch the first vehicle in its Neue Klasse lineup, and the 2027 iX3 all-electric SUV is sure to make a strong impression on roads from Corona to Ontario and beyond. Scheduled to arrive in the United States in summer 2026, the iX3 50 xDrive will be followed by additional single- and dual-motor variants in early 2027. 2027 BMW iX3 Engine Performance

We begin our 2027 BMW iX3 preview with a look at performance. The powertrain boasts a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system powered by sixth-generation 800-volt eDrive technology. Its numbers paint a compelling picture for those who value both speed and efficiency on their Riverside drives. Key performance highlights include:

  • An estimated 463 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque
  • An estimated 0-to-60 mph time of 4.7 seconds
  • An estimated maximum range of up to 400 miles on a full charge
  • DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes, with a maximum charging capacity of 400 kW

Beyond the 2027 BMW iX3 engine performance, this SUV introduces a central control unit called the BMW Heart of Joy. The system unifies drivetrain management, braking, and energy recuperation into a single integrated unit. It works in coordination with BMW Dynamic Performance Control software to deliver precise, responsive handling. The iX3 also features BMW Panoramic Vision, which projects key driving information directly onto the lower portion of the windshield, and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant offers built-in voice control, allowing drivers to keep their hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road.

The exterior of the 2027 iX3 embraces a philosophy of minimalism. Traditional body creases and chrome accents have been stripped away in favor of clean surfaces, precise lines, and light-driven accents. Notable features of the 2027 BMW iX3 design aesthetic include:
