Have you ever wondered about BMW reliability? Consumer Reports says that most cars can make it over 100,000 miles with proper care, and the Department of Transportation reports that the average car on Murrieta roads today is over 11 years old. But what about BMW models? How long do BMWs last? BMW of Murrieta is here to help. Read on to learn more about BMW reliability!

Is a BMW a Good Car?

BMW models are not just good; they’re extraordinary! One time behind the wheel around Corona and you’ll know why. Known as the ultimate driving machines, BMW vehicles are meticulously designed and produced, requiring less frequent maintenance and repairs than many other brands of vehicles. But you don’t need to take our word for it! Read these impartial auto reviews to learn more about the answer to “Are BMWs good cars?”

  • J.D. Power: A 2019 study (which has been researched annually since 1989) measured problems experienced by original owners during a 12-month period in three-year-old vehicles. BMW ranked well above the industry average in this study.
  • Consumer Reports: In 2018, a reliability study was conducted on over 500,000 vehicles to show which vehicles have minimal issues with high mileage, and BMW placed above competitors like Lincoln, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, and Acura.
  • iSeeCars: The BMW M6 is on a top 10 list from iSeeCars of the Longest-Lasting Sports Cars, with many lasting well over 200,000 miles.

How to Make Your BMW Last Longer

Riverside drivers have high standards and want their cars to last a long time. These tips will help your BMW last longer:

  • Get the features you want: Purchase a BMW model that has the features you want now, so you will still love it just as much in 10 years or more.
  • Get the latest safety technology: Safety features like rearview cameras, pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, electronic stability control, etc. may help you avoid accidents and therefore keep your vehicle in good shape for many years.
  • Get Routine maintenance: Be sure to stick to the recommended maintenance schedule in your vehicle’s owner’s manual.
  • Regular cleaning: By regularly washing and waxing your BMW you can help prevent chipping, rust, and salt damage. Regularly cleaning the inside may reduce excessive wear and tear to the upholstery and carpets.
  • Use Only Genuine BMW Parts: Always use genuine OEM parts for replacements and repairs to improve the longevity of your BMW.
  • Inspections between service intervals: Inspect your vehicle and its tires monthly for warning signs to avoid more significant damage later on Ontario roads.
